Everyone in the world right now is facing in one way or another the effects of COVID-19 be that being in lockdown, facing redundancy or being put on furlough, adapting to an entirely new way of working and to a certain degree an entirely new way of living, dealing with Mental Health, anxiety and pressure from a brand-new perspective.
Working from home is one of the major changes introduced throughout the globe as a result of COVID-19. People’s working lives in general have changed over the past year, be that being in lockdown, facing redundancy or being put on furlough, adapting to an entirely new way of working and to a certain degree an entirely new way of living, dealing with Mental Health, anxiety and pressure from a brand-new perspective.
The list goes on but the point is, whether we like it or not, we are all connected by this virus and while many people are suffering and this is a challenging time, we can all do our bit individually to protect each other. It’s important to try to remain positive and look at things with a strong mindset with the ‘bigger picture outlook’.
As specialist headhunters within the Pharmaceutical & Life Sciences industry, it has been a pleasure to witness collaborations across the globe with some of the biggest Pharmaceutical names like Novartis, J&J, AstraZeneca, Pfizer, GSK and Regeneron to name a few, all for the cause of COVID-19. With such great dedication, resource and effort it comes as no surprise that as of the beginning of April 2020 more than 20 companies had potential medicines with four existing medicines in late phase clinical trials. Moreover, the roll-out of the COVID-19 vaccine right now is the fastest and most advanced development of a vaccine.
So, how can we manage in this COVID-19 period?
Things are moving in the right direction, remain positive and have faith because this time will pass.
Some of us are lucky enough to spend quality time with our family and loved ones – those who are most important to us so embrace that.
If you are on furlough, why not take this time to focus on activities that interest you? And for those of you who have been made redundant or are facing a redundancy – do not panic because we live in a world that is adapting incredibly well to remote working and there are a wealth of opportunities right now for you!
This new way of living and working from home can be challenging but giving yourself a strong routine every day. Having a to-do list with your top priority tasks, and giving yourself time away from the desk and computer screen to break up the day, will not only help you a lot but undoubtedly improve your performance.
Everyone has a different way of dealing with pressure, anxiety and keeping their mental health in check but whatever your way of dealing with emotions is – make sure you are in control at the start of each day!
Here at Mantell Associates we are working closer than ever with our candidates and clients to adapt to new ways of working around COVID-19 – so far with a lot of success so please do not hesitate for any assistance.
Stay healthy, stay safe.
