Mantell Associates is partnered with a Biotech organisation who are searching for a Battery Scientist. The Battery Scientist I is a key position within Research & Development who leads projects that stretches the bounds of what was previously thought possible in batteries.
Battery Scientist – Responsibilities:
- Work with R&D Team to source, synthesize, formulate and/or characterize new materials and components in battery applications
- Partner with Manufacturing Team to scale new discoveries to application-interesting sizes and volumes
- Contribute technical writing to reports, patents and grant
- Stay abreast of the state of the art in the battery industry
- Other duties as assigned
Battery Scientist – Requirements:
- PhD in Chemical, Mechanical, Materials, Electrical Engineering, Chemistry, or Physics
- An additional 0-2+ years of post-graduate work in the battery industry, with preference for startups
- Direct experience working on battery cells and battery cell materials
- Creative thinker and strong a faculty for learning
- Ability to advance multiple projects in a fast-paced and multidisciplinary environment
- Verifiable track record of discovery and development in next-generation Lithium-ion batteries
- Deep knowledge of fundamental electrochemistry and understanding of critical battery tradeoffs
- Strong and verifiable written/verbal communication skills
